Collection Schedule

Trash pickup is on Wednesdays.  Please have your trash out by 8 am on Wednesday morning.  Garbage must be secured in plastic bags.  Garbage is not permitted to be left out before that time without being secured in a garbage container. 

Acceptable/Unacceptable Items

We do not accept the following:

1. Yard Waste

2. Paint

3. Chemicals

4. Prescription and Over the Counter Medication. 

(*Do not flush medicine down the sink or toilet.  This pollutes water and negatively affects fish, wildlife, drinking water supplies, septic systems, and sewage treatment plants.  We kindly ask you to dispose of medication at the drop box at the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office.

Recycling

The Town of Bakersville strongly encourages recycling, as it is beneficial to the environment and reduces the costs of processing refuse. Recyclables are picked up on Tuesdays.  Please have your recyclables separated from your regular trash.  We collect glass, corrugated cardboard, mixed paper, milk bottles, water and soft drink bottles, aluminum cans, and metal.
